Charming Disaster + Karis Koris

Charming Disaster is a Brooklyn, NY-based goth folk duo whose darkly whimsical sound world blends macabre humor, literary storytelling, and theatrical flair. Formed in 2012 by singer songwriters Ellia Bisker and Jeff Morris, the pair creates tightly woven duets that explore the shadowy borderlands between myth and science, magic and mortality, folklore and the occult. Their music draws inspiration from the murder ballad traditions of Americana, the gothic sensibilities of Edward Gorey and Tim Burton and the intimate drama of cabaret performance. Across seven full length albums, Charming Disaster has developed a signature style that is both playfully sinister and emotionally resonant. Their songs unfold like miniature stories—populated by witches, ghosts, detectives, monsters, and doomed lovers—each delivered with wry wit, intricate harmonies, and a flair for the theatrical. They have shared stages with genre bending acts including Voltaire, Rasputina, and The Dresden Dolls, earning praise for their ability to make the macabre feel mischievous, charming, and unexpectedly fun. With an opening set by Karis Koris. “Each song is like a spell or ritual…with a little of the deadpan acoustic punk of Jonathan Richman, as well as the arch theatricality of Amanda Palmer.” –Eugene Weekly “Charming Disaster’s dark cabaret style is the kind that transcends genre and musical era with an immediacy that instantly draws you into its unique creative vision.” –Queen City Sounds “Live, their onstage banter—equal parts sarcastic stage whisper and conspiratorial wink—transforms each set into a midnight salon, where clever wordplay and playful repartee keep the crowd on delighted tenterhooks.“goth-folk cabaretPT2H2026-03-11Charming Disaster + Karis Koris"Charming Disaster + Karis Koris"live show, live event, live music
