BRING Recylcing hosts EEFF Day 3!
Visit the EEFF website for details on Sunday's screenings, workshops and off-site festival events!
SESSION 1 INCLUDES YOUTH-CREATED FILMS:
Kuinerraq (4m): A young seventh grader explores the heritage of his maternal grandma through this glance at a Yu'pik village and his Native Alaskan roots.
Coral Reef Restoration (4m): In my short life of 16 years, climate change, declining water quality, overfishing, pollution, and unsustainable coastal development have decimated up to 15% of the world’s coral reefs. In my short film “Coral Reef Restoration,” I demonstrate four simple steps to do something about it.
Fraying at the Edges (6m): Cape Cod is a place known for its beautiful scenery, deep blue ocean, open skies and spectacular beaches. These habitats are as picturesque as they are fragile. From pesticides to runoff, human factors are affecting these ecosystems in detrimental ways. Salt marshes are a prime example of this impact. Nitrogen runoff from agricultural and septic systems spur the rapid vertical growth and shortened roots of cord grass in the salt marsh resulting in the death of the plant. In a seemingly paradoxical way, the chemical that helps plants grow, causes death.
RISE, FALL, HOPE (7m): 14-year-olds explore humanity's stumbling struggle for sustainability.
Unveiling the City (8m): A short documentary on San Francisco's disappearing fog.
SESSION 1 ALSO INCLUDES YOUTH-INSPIRED FILMS:
Suzie Hicks the Climate Chick (30m): An environmental educator and her anxious puppet co-host travel the world to learn about climate science, all while working together with local communities to inspire action. Followed by Q&A with filmmaker and star Suzie Hicks!
Earth Girl (31m): Earth Girl is an absurdist, character-driven comedy variety show that provides levity, humor and digestible tidbits of information around the big, scary question of what we can be doing to help combat the climate crisis.">
