Edelic hosts EEFF Day 5! Visit the EEFF website for details on Tuesday's screenings, workshops and off-site festival events! THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES: The Ultimate Mongolian Expedition (13m): “The Norden 901 Expedition fuels your soul to go further.” One year on from their epic trip across Iceland, Mike Horn and Cyril Despres join forces once again to explore the wilderness of Mongolia on the new Norden 901 Expedition. With Cyril’s two-wheel skills, Mike’s vast knowledge of adventure techniques, and the new Norden 901 Expedition’s incredible capabilities, the team explored various terrains and unique nature as they travel across Mongolia, learning more about the country’s history and the people who call it their home. Shady Grove Farm U.P. - Quest For Food Freedom (22m): After sustaining an injury at work, Randy Buchler needed a way to remain active to improve his health. Randy and his family started with small agriculture activities and it continually blossomed into something bigger. Then, this small family-ran permaculture farm producing beyond organic food was challenged by the local zoning board. They were asked to stop partaking in the agriculture practices they had created to build a healthy lifestyle. Randy had to spend countless hours learning laws to go to court to defend his right to farm. They are helping their community by promoting organic agriculture, urban agriculture and the importance of local food produced with integrity, local farms and local food systems. They use absolutely no chemicals, hormones or anti-biotics. Part of their mission is to build bridges between people, food and farm products. They offer occasional classes and educational opportunities, including animal harvesting and processing, preservation of meats utilizing Charcuterie or salt curing, and permaculture. One of their goals is to inspire any number of people to start taking responsibility for some of their own food supply. Join their quest to food freedom! The Red Creek Sessions (30m): Red Creek is the elusive Class V+ whitewater gem flowing from the Dolly Sods Wilderness in the West Virginia highlands. Join Dr. Philip Prince, an expert in Appalachian geology, as he takes an in depth look at the rock structures of this region through the rare descent of Red Creek by a group of local whitewater kayakers on Cheatfest Weekend 2022. The film then explores the entire Cheat River Watershed, showcasing the world class whitewater offered in this area as a result of the unique geology of Northern West Virginia. The Red Creek Sessions is an educational documentary comparing the timeline of humanity with the timeline of geology, highlighting the rare opportunities presented to whitewater kayakers thanks to millions of years of geologic evolution. The Red Creek Sessions is the winner of the Accomplished Film Award at the 2023 National Paddling Film Festival, the Viewer's Choice Award at the 2023 NPFF, a featured program on West Virginia PBS, and the winner of countless film festival awards throughout the world.
